I apologize for the difficult wording in this post. I can’t seem to collect myself.
Some of you know that I moved from Cushing, Oklahoma after spending over a decade of ky life there. Please, send your prayers, your good thoughts, and positive energy towards Oklahoma.
We’ve been in a drought for twelve years and there hasn’t been ANY rain. Ranches have sold all of their livestock early to slaughter because there’s been no hay for the past three harvests. Grains’ prices skyrocketed.
There’s a reason why we’re the Bible buckle. We’ve clung to something to guide us through hard times. I have never known a rancher, a cattleman, or an oil boy to not be God-fearing, or fearing something Almighty. A fire, a drought, a flashflood. Everything is gone.
Pray for rain. Pray for the folk fighting the fires around the clock. For the families who are donating their time to help others and losing everything.
My childhood home is within thirty miles of the flames. The oil tanks that pock-mark the surrounding of Cushing are against the backdrop of a firestorm. All of the neighboring towns have evacuated. If we could get rain. If the rain would just come down in buckets. Enough to keep the rivers full and low enough that the farms around the waters stay safe.
This one isn’t for me. It’s for everyone who’s losing everything.
A guiding hand to you all and my love-
